    Assortment
Minouche en Rûne’s jewellery is an exciting mix of classic and modern. The collection ranges from luxurious to M&R style pearl colliers to poppy fluffiness: sweet pearl stars layed into 22 carat gold rings, offset by a fat, coloured precious stone, resulting in a cool final product. Minouche en Rûne also have a webshop. Here you will find a part of their collection.

    Attributes
Rûne: “Sometimes, our work reminds people of their grandmother’s jewellery, because we sometimes tend to use classic elements like camees. But we give it a twist to make it modern.” Minouche: “The classical element is also attained by our craftsmanship. The jewellery reflects the old techniques that we use.” Minouche and Rûne’s own style starts with the materials. “We never put designs down on paper, we always work from the material. We buy precious stones, pearls, camees, coral and other beautiful material. From there our designs take form. One of us will initiate something and the other one will expand on that. This is how the most spectacular pieces of jewellery are created.”

    Atmosphere
The work bench is located rather visibly in the back of the store; quite often you’ll find the jewelsmiths hard at work at it. But it’s not just the jewellery that is designed by Minouche and Rûne, the interior is one of their creations as well. And again, they took the same approach: classic with a twist.

    Background
Minouche Mulder and Rûne van der Cruijsen met at the MTS Vocational School in Schoonhoven, where they both completed the gold -and silver smith programme. After doing an internship in Amsterdam together, they parted ways. Their paths crossed again 4 years later in Arnhem, where they opened their jewellery store / workshop. “Having your own business allows you to keep control over everything,” the women agree. “You take your own decisions, and you’re even more closely involved in the creative process. Moreover, the bond you have with your jewellery is more emotional than it would be if you were working for someone else.”
