There is an ever changing menu in this delicious Italian Restaurant. In the small but very snug cooking studio, La Cucina, you can enjoy a meal at a table which seats 10 to13. You have your own exclusive private cook who devises a menu from 4 to 8 courses. You can also receive cooking lessons at La Cucina or a wine tasting session and this can all be organized for you and your friends.
Oliva is situated in a building which was built after the war in 1949and is in the centre of Rotterdam on the Witte de Withstraat only a two minute walk from the Cinema Cinerama. You can easily combine an evening at Oliva with a visit to one of the nearby Rotterdam museums, such as the Boymans and the NAI. The restaurant is modern and stylishly decorated. When you enter you immediately see the wonderful drink buffet, which is placed in an alcove on its own. There is room for 72 people in Oliva. Near the kitchen there is a large old grained table, named “tavola zero”. At this table you can have 8 guests, maximal 10.After a consultation with the chef a dinner is created and cooked specially for this table of guests. On a summer sultry evening one can always move outdoors to the terrace.
The dining space has a high ceiling and there is a combination of light colors and dark green, metal, wood, and atmospheric lighting. The personnel, under the leadership of owner Alex Verburg, and Cees van der Burg take care of the relaxing, informal friendly atmosphere.
Every first Sunday in the month is Pranzo at Oliva. This means the tables are put length wise one can enjoy from the top 10 different dishes of ones own choice from the kitchen.
